The major disadvantage is that it doesn’t reach the steps so they don’t get cleaned and we still do them by hand now and then. An additional problem is that this vacuum makes a odd sucking sound as it cleans. Not a huge problem for of the people, but if you have kids with a huge fantasy they connect that sound with an awfull monster waiting to eat little children. So now we pull this out of the pool whenever people come over who are not used to it.On the whole this pool vacuum is a enormous time saver for our family. Even now we need to do a a small number of things by hand (steps), but it is much better now. The finest part is that my pool is shining and bright clean, even while we’re too tired to scrub…
- … Do not be fooled by a terrible review. I’ve had this pool vacuum for 13 years and am only now buying a new one. This is an outstanding pool vacuum. The only part of my pool it can’t scrub are the steps. Except for those, I haven’t swept my pool with a brush for years, since the Kreepy reaches all else. When the filter is clean the suction is very strong and it cleans up leaves, twigs and microscopic stuff as it vacuums and filters the water. When the suction is down, check the filters, they are probably dirty. Now the thing is old and I’m ordering a new one, but 13 years of NOT cleaning my pool myself is proof enough for me…
